Default Is It me or is anyone else feeling guilty at leaving the Uk?

Just a ponder, We moved here over 2 months ago
both are working and renting a house. We are enjoying our lifes here, however when we ring back to the Uk and chat to family and friends we rave on how good things our here, work, lovely people we have met etc. I feel a tad guilty when they replie, oh its dull and crap over here. Does anyone else have the same experiance? ( makes me not want to ring!!!)

Yup... I dumb down how good things are for us three years in... They dont want to hear it... Feel guilty that we have our kids a better future here than they faced back home? Nope... Just very very grateful that we had the good fortune to be ABLE to immigrate..

Yes we feel the same way too, I have to tell my husband not to be too "happy" on the phone etc, just in case it cheeses people off. We also feel very grateful that we are here, guess we are used to people moaning back home!!. best tell them it has been raining instead ......

Don't feel guilty but tend to gloss over some of the good stuff.

Shit no. We are individuals who made a choice, and don't get me wrong, there were huge risks involved for us.

If somebody is unhappy about where they are, make a change or put up with it. That is what we did. If anybody got shitty with us because we were happy it would make me re adjust my opinion of them.

Would that plan work if I implemented it after 30 seconds... Rather than wait a full 10 minutes? Its just I start getting a bit wound up within seconds... And by ten minutes i'm chewing the carpet.. 30 seconds is about my the length of my MIL Care Factor

The calls have got less frequent so my theory hasn't had a test recently

Whatever, people move on ...

Yup. Absolutely pointless trying to satisfy everyone.

What is the point of having to power to change your life and exercise free will when it's tethered by others and their vested interests?

Christ, I've gone all deep and haven't cracked the Scotch open
