Default Mass exodus to the UK. Thoughts?

Was speaking to a guy who owns an international shipping company last week. He reckons that in the 30 years he's been in the industry he's never been as busy with people moving back to the UK and even Ireland. He had his own take on the reason why. Some of which I took with a pinch of salt to be honest.
Was wondering has anybody else noticed this happening and if so what they make of it?

Definitely a lot of engineering guys from Perth moving over (plenty of non-poms too) but not sure that I would call it an exodus

Tons of engineering projects in the UK and more on the way (although the fall in oil and gas prices will make a big dent in this - Scotland is f**ked for the time being). Crossrail 2, HS2, 2 nukes etc. Rates are rising

I may be one of them in the next few years if the candy on offer is good - especially as you pay minimal tax as a contractor

Work opportunities decreasing in places like Brisbane and Perth and increasing in places like London.

Remember the mass exodus of 2008 / 2009 from the UK. The cycle has reversed.
