Married an Aussie-changing passport

Hiya,

Probably a very small number of people on here could help me with this one....
I got married last week to an Aussie and need to change my name on my British Passport. The application has to be signed by a professional who has known me for at least two years.... and I've only been here 1 1/2 yrs!!

It'd be great if I could wait till I'd been here 2 years and then apply, but our honeymoon tickets (trip to Europe in July) have been booked under my married name!

Any suggestions anyone? I dont want anyone to lie on the application form about how long they've known me for.... could cause problems.

Cheers!

W.

From what I have read on here, the concensus seems to be that you have to send the form back to the UK and get someone there to sign it. Other ways have been suggested but don't seem to give a guaranteed result.

You should be OK to travel on your current passport but have your marriage certificate with you - I have done that

From what I remember, when i got mine done, it just had to be a holder of a UK passport (mine was signed by a govt admin officer); if Wanderlust thinks about it, she knows several Brits from Uk days - at least 2 years ago..........including govt officers and at least one teacher.......!! :)

(oh, and I am definitely certifiable, though maybe not in the sense W/lust is thinking of!!!!
