Default Margaret River - again

I've wanted to go to the Margaret river area for a few years now. Even asked on here about it.
We were thinking of 2 or 3 weeks around the area but the cost of Self Catering property is just stooopid.
It's not that we can't afford it but as far as anywhere near value for money goes it just ain't there.

Double the cost of better stuff that we go to in France and Spain.

So disappointed.

How much did you want to pay?

This might not be what you're looking for but it does offer self catering even if not being self contained so to speak.

We paid $160/nt smack bang in the middle of the Xmas/NY season for 2 rooms with a bathroom shared between them.

Have you tried websites like Stayz and Airbnb?

I've found it's not helpful to compare the cost of something in the country you're living in, with the cost of something similar in another country. If you do, you'll never go anywhere or do anything. I can get two 2 course meals with 2 large bottles of beer for $4 dollars in Vietnam - you get my point.

Thanks to sos and bcworld.

There would only be the two of us.
Most places are for a family plus.
And if anywhere has some value for two they appear to be all booked up even though the missus has been looking for months.

Have a look at these. A lot are expensive, but some are reasonable
