Default Mango Hill info

Just wondered if anyone had any info on Mango Hill area in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. We are moving to Aus early May and will be staying with my sister in Warner to start but my wife likes the look of Mango Hill. Are there any good schools there as we have a 3 1/2 year old daughter, seen it has an ABC nursey not sure if they are any good. Be great to get some info and find out if anyone lives there.
Cheers

mark

We've lived in North Lakes/Mango Hill for about 14 months and it is a great place to live.

There is a state school which is excellent and also a private school. Often, the state school out performs the private which is great. You are 45 minutes from the Sunshine Coast, 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD and there is a decent shopping centre at North Lakes which is just about to start phase 2 in it's expansion plan.

Check ot these websites http://www.stockland.com.au/Resident...thLakes/About/

http://www.northlakes.com.au/

There is an ABC Nursery there.

There are some good walks. The place is always well manicured, clean and tidy and there seems to be a real community thing going on. They show films on a big screen down at Lake Eden in the summer and do all sorts of free things at Xmas for the kids and the community.

All in all it's a pretty good spot.

Hi Billabong

The wife and I have been looking at North Lakes since friends of ours recently returned from their hols and told us all about it. They loved it and feel that's the place for them. What I would like to know is, how far away are the nearest beaches?

Regards

My friends brought back some info on the houses you can buy there. They are very nice indeed:

BossHog,

There are beaches in Redcliffe (10 mins away) that are good for small kids as they are sheltered because of Moreton Bay. There is also the lagoon at Redcliffe which is fantastic on those hot summer days. http://www.redcliffe.qld.gov.au/tourism/parks.html

The nearest good beaches are at Bribie Island about 30 mins north and then you have Caloundra about 35 mins north and then Mooloolaba (stunning beach) 45 mins north.

If you want to go down to the Gold Coast it takes about an hour and 20 mins but we prefer the Sunshine Coast (north) as it far less commercialised.

PS - Don't touch Plantation Homes with a barge pole. My sister in law has just finished building with them and they have been shocking.

Many thanks for your reply and the link. North Lakes is definitely going to be a place we look at when we do our validation trip.

Sorry to hear your sister in law is having troubles with Plantation houses. I am quite keen on a new build but the wife isn't. What would be your advice on buying a property in this area?

Kind Regards

Hi Billabong

I sent you at PM the other day as we are considering Plantation Homes for a build. What exactly were the problems your sister in law had?

I would really appreciate any advice you can give

Thanks

Hi Billabong

Can you tell me what the State and Private schools names are please? We have been looking at that area too but are having difficulty finding out what schools are good/bad.

Also do you happen to know if there are any fully furnished rentals around there?

Thanks
