Default Malaysian Airlines, still ok??

Flew with them a few years ago and they were good, except for the food but the transit hotel, the Pan Pacific, was great .

Going 'home' for Christmas and they are offering a really good price so just wondered if anyones flown with them more recently and how they found them? X

The MIL flew to Europe with them at Christmas and has raved about them a lot. Free upgrade on one leg of the flight there AND back... can't remember what else but I know she was really impressed as she hadn't expected much due to the huge difference in price between them and the competition when she booked. And she has damn high standards (or maybe that's just because she's the MIL...)

Sometimes delayed, but not an issue if you are not traveling for business or with infants.

Intend to stay in the hotel for overnight and have a swim & get a massage so no issue with that.

Thanks X

We're travelling with them in July and also staying a night in the luxurious Pac Pacific. Cost for four, return was under $7.5K, which we thought reasonable.

On their website! We were impressed too- think the actual airfares were about $7200 and the night in the Pan Pacific 300- heaps more than when we stayed there with just the two of us and one toddler, but still, when added onto the cost of the flight not that much for making it so much nicer! unfortunately we couldn't stop on the way back as the flights wouldn't 'work' unless we stayed for ages, which we didn't want to.

We flew with them last year and found the leg room to be excellent, especially for my OH who is quite tall.

BUT had problems with the inseat entertainment, food was very sparce (only 1 meal in 9 hours) didn't come round with soft drinks etc, even if you called the buzzer, no one came.

Have flown with Qantas previously and despite what most people say on here, we had a good flight with them, snack bags for the kids, lots of soft drinks on offer etc

However, I think it's all down to the crew you have on the day, we are flying with Emirates in July so will have another comparaison then!

Yes, it seems I did as the same journey is now $9.5K!

Probably the first sound financial move I've made since emigrating
