We are flying out with Malaysia Airlines in February and am trying to organise increased baggage allowance as I notice several BE members have managed to get this in the past, unfortunately I'm not getting any response to the emails, calls I've made.

Has anyone managed to get increased allowance with Malaysia and if so who did you contact to get written confirmation?

From what i have read on here for the last few months the genral consensus is that Malaysia do not do increase baggage its only Singapore that offer this kind of service.

I could be wrong but check on alot of posts that should help.

We are flying with emirates end of feb and they have given us extra baggage allowance.

AS I've said in other threads, the only airlines that usually over the extra allowance now are Singapore and Emirates. Its not cost effective for the airlines to do it; it ceased to be viable really when more people became aware of it through websites like this. Some airlines like Qantas will do a "Migrant Fare" but its far more pricey than the normal, and you are better sending your stuff as freight.

BA told us we could take 40kg each, we had no problems at uk end but we had a stop off in S\A and got stung for £300 wanted to charge £800. My advice is make sure you get it in writing if your allowed more.
