Hi all,

Can anyone please tell me how many large suitecases is equal to 40KG for double baggage. (just as a guide)

Also are you allowed to take laptops on board a plane as hand luggage, if so can they be used or do they have to be turned off.

40KG is about 2 large suitcases (sensibly packed). Use your bathroom scales and weigh 'em yourself as to avoid overweight baggage charges! Laptops can be taken onboard and can be used during the flight, you even get laptop power sockets on some carriers.

Have flown with Singapore before, but I think it was only in Business Class.

I think that laptops are excluded from the hand luggage total, same as camarea bags. Someone will tel you.

Never stopped me going through with one, been on two occasions and had loads in thge laptop bag as well. I still had my back pack with all the usual junk in. (must work out what's in it one day )

I have got 30KGs in a large suitcase. 2 kgs more and it would have hit the safety limit.

Check your airlines website for more details on policy as they vary.

With Singapore Air you can take laptops on board ure plane....as an extra.... not counted as ure hand luggage.... rather like a handbag isnt.....so make sure you use a good size handbag with pockets rather than a clutch bag!

family ov seven we took..... 12 suitcases (40kgs per person provided you havent validated - no suitcase can weigh more than i think its 32kgm each.... if it does you will have to open ure cases and shuffle ya smalls around!), 7 hand luggage bags, 5 handbags and a laptop! yes we were 'Coming to America!!!' hehehehe
