Default LPG

Once I am settled in Melbourne and have bought a car, I am planning on converting it to LPG. Has anyone else done this? Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of?

I am by no means new to LPG! A few years ago I converted my first Mazda MX5 to LPG and was very happy with the conversion and the whole running on gas. I'm just aware that things are slightly different in Australia...

Does anyone have any other alternative fuel experiences? Is CNG widely available for vehicles?

LPG is very widely available now, CNG on the other hand is still relatively new and is generally only available to truck fleets. Several new CNG projects are under way but it'll be a few years before it gets down to personal car level.
If you're buying a car, why not buy an LPG dedicated vehicle and save the messing about ? I'm on my second company provided Ford Focus LPG wagon and apart from regular cleaning of the wax from the injectors I haven't had any problems

Thanks for that.

I would buy an already converted vehicle if I liked the look of it, but I very much doubt there are any converted Mazda MX5's in Victoria! (I haven't found any, at least).
