Lost Superannuation

Back in 2001 and whilst on a working holiday I worked for about 6 months through a recruitment agency called Alexander Grey who paid super contributions on my behalf.

Unfortunately I no longer have a record of the super fund and Alexander Grey has shut down so I can't contact them to ask them who it was.

I've tried the ATO lost super search but it didn't find anything as your fund seem to have to report you as lost before they register your details.

I've also called the ATO super helpline but all they could give me were my current fund details.

I've also tried called the fund called "Recruiment Super" but they couldn't find anything.

Anyone have any idea how I can trace the relevant fund?

Hi,

Yes I believe these are linked to the ATO lost super service for which the fund has to have reported you as missing ... and it obviously hasn't!

Did they actually pay the super to the relevant insurance company ?

That insurer will have to notify the ATO if they have no contact with you for 5 years.

So it may take a while, but you will find it eventually, assuming it was paid.
