Try it for real you will have a point before you know it. I find it way harder to concentrate going slow as you nearly fall asleep with boredom, where when going faster you have to concentrate to do it.

If you're on a road where everyone's going 60k, the chances you'll be able to go 100k is somewhat limited, especially if its one lane.

If you speed, the police will get you. It's simple. Your choice.

How come in UK we drove faster on narrower roads and had less crashes than this lot... they would piss themselves if they went to the French Alps, Pyrenees, Scotland or the Lake District.

YES! People here drive like pedantic grannies. It's tough sticking to the limit. The 50kph in built up areas is hard to stick too. I usually drive 5-10kph over the limit & have not had a fine yet. The top speed is 110kph but there are few places where this applies. The Graham farmer motorway in Perth has a limit of 80kph FFS. What pisses me off is that the revenue collectors (aka cops) have a massive shortage of personnel, struggle to solve crimes & let criminals roam free but there are proposals to double the number of specialist revenue collectors (aka traffic cops)!

W*nkers.

Was that you trying to do it on the outside lane of the M23 between junction 10 and 9 of the M23?

When in Rome.....

Part of the enjoyment of living in Melbourne better lane and speed control. There are exceptions like all places but much less abuse than you find in Crawley or London.

It's the way 'they' (aka traffic cops) hide behind trees, hedges or park amongst normal cars to get you as well makes it all very sneaky... .

Driving faster in uk on narrower roads means we don't get stuck behind any cars and we don't end up with cars on our tails therefore no one to crash into so less accidents...........

The Aus obsesion with traffic lights also stops traffic and bunches it up so more likely to crash as well.

So why do people people still seem to prefer big, powerful engines then?

Doesn't that just make the limits even more frustrating?

Yes I wouldn't buy a car in Aus without cruise control now... I put it on and go to sleep until an exciting bit of 110K comes along.

As for the big engines they are only just like the USA starting to have real petrol prices that make small cars look good and worth while plus for some silly reason the price of bananas pushing interest rates up so everything going up here so everyone skint.

For any offence less than 10k over limit, it is definitely worth sending a creepy letter to the authorities. I did, after seeing a post on here and it saved me a demerit point and $130 !

That was me...even more fun on the back country roads...getting sworn at by old dears trying to overtake you is a bit embarrassing though
