can anybody help Im looking for a job at the moment I am here in England and I am a Council Benefit & revenues assessor. I have tried looking on jobsearch but im not sure what the heading would be (I bet theres not as many benefits over there???)

You have to be a citizen to work at Centrelink.

Have you tried looking on the website of the Council to which you are going at their employment page? Most Councils don't normally advertise on seek but directly on their sites for most non-administration positions. Normal Council Admin positions are apparently advertised mainly through agencies such as Kellys, Adecco etc.
As Wendy has said that role you now do is done Federally by Centrelink and getting a Federal govt job is hard even for an Australian. Feds normally require far more evidence of past work history than anyother employer in the country.
