Hi Shani - we already here but might be in touch - we're looking to buy in Bayside and finding it difficult to work out where the good/bad areas are and problem areas like being too close to the wetlands if the drought ends etc.

You may be lucky in the Thorneside area - have one at the moment on the market at $359,000 negotiable - needs a bit of work - but these cheapies do come up now and then. Shani

Re: Looking for a House to Buy?
Hi there, quite new to this but finding lots to read, laugh about and ask.
Got our PR visas and fly out for good 3rd October, have family in Sydney but i liked Brisbane and other spots on the east coast on previous visits, still undecided on where we're going to settle as it depends where OH can get work, replying to you as you mention your OH is in Air Con that's what mine does, he's self employed here and just sub contracts for a few companies mainly on big stuff so any advice to do with work would be appreciated,
I finished work today so my main task over the next few months is to find out about jobs, work licenses, homes, schools etc. before we get there!!!

$359k is around 6 times the average wage of someone living in the bayside.
I dont see anything cheap about the housing in Bayside for you appear to get.
and there isnt excatly alot of industry or business parks around there either....
