Looking for friends
 

My husband and I moved to the Gold Coast in October 2008 to be nearer our family, We are loving it here but finding it hard to meet different people as we are both semi retired (but very active!)
We enjoy socialising, eating out, golf, fishing, boating and generally enjoying what the Gold Coast has to offer.
We are looking to meet some friends with similar interests so please get in touch

Have you tried joining a social club? The bowling clubs or working men's clubs and such like are a good place to start? Or maybe some of the Church clubs. Where abouts on the Gold coast are you? I'm not semi-retired but have met friends parents and they go to some of the above. It may be a good place to start. :)

Thanks for the suggestions Parh...joined Helensvale Bowls Club...more for the odd drink and some food than the bowls! Not quite into that yet! Even there people seem to keep themselves to themselves.
We'll keep trying!

hello welcome to Australia.
We are from hertfordshire uk and are also coming up to retirement age.Weve been here many years now but like you we found it very hard to make friends for a long time.Actually not through choice but most of our friends are from britain, it wasnt planned that way.
We are about 40 mins from gold coast.
we were down your way today ,we went to Abba mania at jupitors,great show.

we could of arrange a meet up for a coffee or drink hehe
