Looking for an advice

Hi,
I am a Site Engineer working for a major construction firm in UK for the past 9yrs. I have been applying for similar jobs in Australia for the last 12 months mainly through Seek.com.au. Even though I have lot of experience in Commercial construction sector in UK, I am yet to receive any positive response for an opportunity in Australia. I have permanent spouse visa(sub class 100). So there is no issue for me to go and work there. Despite having all the qualification and experience I am yet to secure an opportunity. So my question is why I cant get an offer? Do I have to go to Australia to get an opportunity? Please any advice greatly appreciated.

LinkedIn and recruitment agents, cold applications on seek will get you nowhere.

It is very unlikely that you will get any interest whilst you are out of Australia. Some people are lucky, the vast majority are not.

Well there is the possibility that your CV is particularly badly written or something, but if you think that it is fine, then yes I guess you need to be here. Most of us do.

LinkedIn is a great way to start. If you get your profile right, particularly with the experience you have, you should find some luck there. No harm in being proactive and contacting some recruiters or companies directly.

Maybe you could contact some companies directly? Personally, I think that's the best way to go. Good luck :)
