Look out Brissie, here we come!

My 100th post seemed like a good time to make my announcement!

My partner and I are going home!! http://www.britishexpats.com/forum/i...es/biggrin.gif

A year in Lincolnshire has been a great way to get to know t'other half's family and lifestyle, but one winter is enough for me! http://www.britishexpats.com/forum/i...ilies/wink.gif So we're heading home in a fortnight.

Fingers crossed, I've got my finger on the pulse of a possible job too!

I don't know many of you very well (call it a fear of giving too much of oneself away on the net http://www.britishexpats.com/forum/i...lies/frown.gif ), but it's always good to read everyone's posts and I hope to continue to try and help out anyone who needs advice about Brisbane or the Aussie lifestyle.

We still have a lot to do to make the move permanent as Mr ProofReader is only coming on an ETA at this stage. Hopefully we can gather all of our 'evidence' and pop back for a short while next summer (UK) and sort out the spouse visa for him.

Anyway, madly packing up now, so ... wish us luck?!

ProofReader (aka Chris)

Bit early for a bon voyage Chris but I may not be around when you fly out so I'll wish you both happiness back in Aus now. :)

Thanks you blokes! :D Great to think that someone not only replied, but did so quickly! ;)

Cornwall and Cairns, eh Bix? Two of my fave places ... but at different times of the year!!

And another connection for me, Tony, cos I used to live in Kent!

It's actually not a permanent move, unfortunately, not quite yet anyway. We still have to return to get MrP's visa - he's only on an ETA for now, but happy to have an extended holiday with me 'til the Pommie winter is over! ;) Yes, I'm a woos (wus?)!!

Where were you in Kent? I'm in a wee village called Wye near a dump called Ashford. :)

Used to live in Hempstead (wasn't nearly as big then as it is now), near Gillingham and Chatham. Was down your way a couple of weeks ago when I spent a few days with an old school friend in Chatham.
