Unlikely I would have thought. The army would come out to assist. That's why we have them. Whoever did this simply ( ) wanted to cause the city to shut down, not to murder as many people as possible. This they have done.
The media spreading hysteria is of no use whatsoever. And Reuters need their heads examined to state that Ken Livingstone is "rushing" back. The poor guy is sitting on an aeroplane going at a normal speed. But that is the sort of crap that makes the situation worse. Why don't all those people, who can, get back in their offices and homes and let the emergency services get on with the job without having to waste resourses stopping numpties trying to get a better view Sorry pisses me off. As the wife of a firefighter, rubber neckers need slapping.

Transport system is being shut down. All trains into London are being turned back (just spoke to a colleague who's train was turned round back to Brighton). Some mobile calls are getting through, I just got one. It all seems to be north of the river, I'm south of the river in Southwark. I hope I can get home tonight, I actually drove in today, which I rarely do, but I think the roads are going to be a nightmare. I hope casualties do not keep rising, getting home means nothing if people are dying.
