Try going to their nuts and bolts operations direct.

In Queensland.......
NQX for main roadfreight.
Toll Ipec for courier / parcels.
QRX for rail.
Bloody hell, the Toll group will be massive if it takes over Patricks, it will strike a lot of companies of the chart and will become a monopoly.

They will become a force to be reckoned with.

Will e-mail the sub-division of the Toll group and see what happens then.

Thanks for your help

Aye, they'll be a really big one.
Patricks are holding out but not much chance of success.

Can't see the monopoly thing stopping it as they mainly operate in different fields. Toll are freight....Patricks ports. It will create a company looking to control everything from domestic door through to destination port.

Also try Mainfreight Owens Distribution. One of the few companies gaining business at the expense of Toll.

This link should give you various transport associations.....

I work in Logistics IT in WA, and am a member of the LAA (Logistics Association of Australia). I can't say I'm a trucking expert, but I bump into some of the carriers in this neck of the woods, Centurion etc.

Some of Logistics Recruitment Agencies featured in the LAA mag are:
www.logisticsrecruitment.com.au
www.procurenet.com.au
www.aaai.com.au

Whilst job hunting over here I also subscribed to most of the main recuitment sites:
Seek
Jobserve
Jobnet
etc.

I recall one of these throwing out lots of warehousing positions .. possibly Seek.

I used to work at P&O (Trans European) when Toll looked in to buying us about 4 years back. I really hoped they'd pull it off and I could get a transfer to Oz, but it never happened.
Toll have been looking to expand for a while now, they must have money to spend.

lol that's funny, me a truckie?
Jasper Carrot used to do this sketch where he is a truckie, picking up a girl in a bar.
His chat up line was "Hey I'm a computer programmer".
Well I kind of think I'd be better off reversing that logic ;-)

Got a couple of offers on the go right now - through recruitment agencies I registered with. One is for a start on Thursday. I emailed Patrick when I was here on holiday in July/August and explained I was coming for good end of Sept - never even got a 'thanks - but no thanks' back from them. I find the odd one or two of them are pretty unprofessional in a way in that they don't even acknowlege your application. Takes them ages if they do want to interview you to get around to it as well. Buy - that's the way it is, so I guesss we just have to live with it - "When in Rome............"

He's off having a medical... in the UK he was a Logistics Transport/Ware house manager, so lot of it was office and shop floor based but he has all his UK fork lift tickets and Aus HC and MC licences.

The job he has taken for now is not on level of his UK job but suppose gets his foot in the door while he waits for other people to reply. It just seems a shame to have so many skills and for people to want you to go back down the ladder just cause for...I'm a nurse and finding it quite similar with nursing.

We don't want to sound like 'winging pomms' but sometimes think the Aussies drive you to it... .
