Question Logistics Warehousing + Recruitment

Hi

Anyone know any good Recruitment agencies for Logistics and Ware housing jobs at supervisor and/or manager level or where there are any jobs going at the moment?

My husband was a Logistics, Wharehousing and Transport Manager in the UK but Brisbane firms don't seem to be advertising many suitable jobs at the moment, don't know if it is the pre xmas quiet period.

Cheers for any info... .

You're not in Uk now, it's another country...so manager it's quite hard to be, maybe a lower level for a start.

IMHO

I'm in the same boat here in the UK at the moment!

All this tosh about there being a massive shortage of lorry drivers.....dont you believe a word of it!

Cant get a 'half' decent job round these parts for love nor money! The local tipper lorry company has a 2 year waiting list of drivers wanting to work for them - I swear to god!

I am thinking (and praying) that it is just because of xmas = people are reluctant to walk out etc...at this time of year!

Hi RobnCAZ, I goto a forum called uktrucknet and a lot of drivers are saying the same thing about where are all the jobs. I'm an agency driver at present and work is flowing up in Derby for Drivers. Will wait to see Jan/Feb brings

Have you tried the direct approach to the logistics companies themselves?

www.toll.com.au
www.patrick.com.au
www.tntauto.com.au
or others??

Hi there,

Yeah, I am also working for an agency at the moment. Have no choice, there just isnt any decent work around! Hate agency work massively, only reason these companies use the agencies is because their jobs or lorries are so poor they cant get full time staff for em!
Am hoping the new year will bring something better along! Think alot has to with my location, Surrey isnt known as a huge distribution and industry hub
Not like it used to be a few years ago when you could waltz into any transport firm and waltz out with a job eh?
Lets hope OZ is better....seems to be from looking in the job ads!

I have e-mailed direct to tnt and the toll group, and I get Zilch, never e-mail back or anything, they don't want the hassle to be honest, which does not help us out really. I have e-mail Patrick and see if they will reply.

Patrick group looks like they have some good kit Scania trucks, I drive a Scania Topline and they are the brass knees

Toll is in the process of taking over Patricks which will form a massive company in all aspects of logistics.

Try going to their nuts and bolts operations direct.

In Queensland.......
NQX for main roadfreight.
Toll Ipec for courier / parcels.
QRX for rail.
