"lock flag" in application
Hi everyone,
Little question about employers attitude .
If everything takes course like we hope, we will get our PR in the next weeks. I have an offer from my current employer to work in Sydney for half a year on a project. He thinks that I will come back after that period but I will use that time to apply for another job in Adelaide (because that's where we would like to live).
Now my question: As far as I know it is common (even important) in Australia for the new employer to get a reference contact from the current employer. Is there a possibility for a kind of "lock flag" in the application so that they do not contact my current employer? Is that common and do they respect it? Or does this reduce the chances to get an interview? Do the HR officers in the companies take this as a sign of non-teustability?
Cheers
Carsten
