Living outside Brissie

Hello all, we’re still looking for somewhere to eventually live when we arrive in Brissie.

Can anyone tell me if there are any obvious advantages of living outside the Brisbane City run areas, and instead living in the surrounding council areas such as Redcliffe, Logan, Pine Hills etc.

Is it cheaper rates etc.

Any info greatly received.

Redlands, Pine Rivers, Logan etc all have similar rates to BCC. The only advantage I know of is that (in general) the housing is cheaper, usually because of the distance from the CBD.

(Redlands doesnt follow the trend of the others in that regard though, its generally more expensive than other outer suburbs).

Not sure about the other councils, but the Redlands have capped the rates at a maximum of 8% increase over the next few years :)
