Hi, well we may need a few more clues to help you!

- rent or buy?
- budget?
- house/apartment/unit?
- how many bedrooms?
- beach/countryside/cafe latte?
- transport needed?

Melbourne has 300 suburbs, we can help narrow it down with a few clues!

Where will you be working?

I don't really know Melbourne so can't help but it might help those that do. How old are the kids? What type of schooling are you looking for?

Is there a reason that you're not heading back to Toorak? (again, do not know Melbourne) When you were in Toorak, were there any areas that you thought were nice? Do you want to be in that general area or avoid it?

You really have been very vague with your question and info given. People are generally helpful but you also need to help yourselves somewhat.

You can try general searches on Realestate website using terms like 'Eastern Melbourne' that will cover a large number of suburbs in one go, and if you filter by rental type, cost, etc it should give you those properties in your price range and criteria and then maybe come back and ask what people know of those suburbs to give them something to go on

Well, have a look at Glen Waverley, Mordialloc and Point Cook as 3 very different areas that might suit.

Have a look on realestate.com.au

I'm guessing price when it comes to Toorak, lovely area but definitely the high end of the market!

Indeed. Probably the most expensive suburb in VIC.
