The title is self explanatory.

Some of it is informative (although you can find it all on the internet) and some of it is out of date.
If you think of buying one then try ebay or amazon as they are cheaper (seen a few on ebay) I bought mine full price in Waterstones and havent used it too much.

Depending on where you are going - I bought "Living in Perth 2006/7" book and it is good. I think I paid AU$20, inc shipping. I bought it from www.bookworm.com.au - the Australian online bookstore. Not sure if they do othr states though.

A friend got a huge document called "How to Arrive and Thrive in Australai". It is a 2005 edition and he had to paid for it (not sure how much). The address is www.arriveandthrive.com/aus. He swears by it.
It has everything: visa types, packing up, arrival 1st few hrs, info on how to set up bank accounts, medicare, driv lic, etc, houses, work, employment, CV's Oz style, finances, schooling/FE, practicalities, customs/social etiquette, checklists, embassies etc, employment professional bodies, interview guide Oz style.

Hope this helps
