Buying Land....Any Rules
We have decided that we may buy land and build??? Just a few days ago we were wanting to buy, but massive turnaround over the last 24 hours! We were wondering how you go about purchasing land in terms of offers. If the land is from $xxxxxx then could we actually bid lower? This piece of land is the last in the area we want to live and I cannot find any history on it??? I guess we would buy the land at the given price as it is the last one, but if we got it cheaper then it would release some extra funds for carpets and lighting in the house and therefore be a big bonus to us. So, any advice. Also, when it says from $xxxxxx, does that mean it is acceptable to offer that price or that they actually want more? Any assistance would be beneficial as we have completed a significant extention, but never completed a new build. Thanks in advance

Oh and the land we have seen is for sale through a real estate agent, not a land agent if that makes any difference Pops x

You can offer whatever you like. Same as a house, or a car, or whatever.
Which state are you in? You may save even more money if you are buying in NSW for instance where stamp duty has been abolished on many land purchases.
