Sorry folks.

I understand where you are coming from but this is not the sort of thing people joke about.

That's what first worried me Bix

I did not think you would joke about something like this.

Hope you are OK

Good luck

Assuming you will not be sniggering into your mane and muttering the date, by the time I next get online.............
Sorry if things aren't what you expected, I think we've all found that in one way or another.Remember though, if its just the heat, there are cooler parts of Oz - plenty out there to try.
Whatever choice you make, many people here will understand and will support you.
Now go chew on a zebra, and lets see whats really going on........

Come on people!!! Read this from Bix da boss 4 days ago

http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...92#post2187592

Hi Davelynd! Bix da Boss here mate!

We have been here since the end of October 2004, yes the climate takes a bit of getting used to but, we just love it in Cairns! Such a change from dull misty rain nearly all year round in Cornwall, were we lived in the UK! At least in Cairns if you plan a bar-b-q you have it - not like in the UK plan one then it pours down with rain the next day, even after really hot weather the day before - that in itself is a refreshing change!

Yes, you do need to 'climatise' but Air Con helps for the 'summer' months! Some days could not do without that, but most Australians find it hard to cope in Cairns during the summer months, but then loads visit in the winter and some stay for up to 5 months because apparently the weather is 'perfect' here then - still have that experience to come! The humidity is, I feel, the worst thing to deal with - but being able to feel the sun on your skin almost every day makes it easier to bear!

We went to the Esplanade today and walked along in beautiful sunshine feeling on top of the world! Saw the Reef Carrier boats and helicopters coming and going - great! Buzzing with people, makes ya feel alive!

Its just such a absolute difference from where we lived, although parts of Cornwall are beautiful, hard to enjoy because of the weather conditions, even in the Great British Summer!

Would find it very hard to go back to that, and dont plan to do so if we have anything to do with it!

We love Cairns and are very glad we came to this particular part of Australia. It will not suit everbody, but if we can cope with the new climate most people could of that I am sure!
And 4 days later, on April 1st no less, they've done a complete U-Turn (sorry I mean Ueeyy).

Its over Bix, I know its a wind up, now goodnight, gotta change the clocks to make the wife get up at 5 am.

Cheers,
JTL

G's in on it!

(I'd don't want to make light of a situation like this, because this thread could be true(and if someone is in a situation like this, it would be very annoying to say the least), if it wasn't for the date, the title, and the wording. It could be true, but Bix would have posted in a different way, and certainly wouldn't be saying goodbye to the forum! )
Very good. You had to make it realistic, otherwise it wouldn't have worked.

P.s. Can't believe it's been 5 months for you already! EDIT: Wow it has: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=262273

You've all missed out the most important thing: Bix da Boss didn't get a mention and I'm sure she'd have summat to say!

I'm with Seang, JTL, etc., and am convinced that we'll get a

in due course!

Nice try Bix!
