Here is a link to the RAA website that lets you do the test questions online to practice for the real test. I just failed by 1 point!!....ARGHHHH :scared:

Don't sweat it, PP - I failed the online NSW test by 3. Then actually READ the road users guide, and got 45/45 for the real thing.;)

Thanx DUP, but its a little embarassing for an ex London cabbie and taxi company owner to fail a driving test LMAO :D

Don't worry, I failed my first theory test in the UK, and only just passed the WA one.

So relieved that there isn't a practical as I took 4 attempts to pass in the UK! :scared:

Not at all - after that length of time you're too busy 'doing' to 'theorise'!!!:D

Don't worry - the adrenelin rush will get you through the real thing! Just remember that it's not a race. I'd finished mine while the guy next to me was still on the first section........

In Qld you get only 30 questions divided into two groups, 10 and 20. You are allowed one wrong in the first 10 questions and two in the second lot of 20 questions.

I passed but got the the alcohol question wrong ( although I answered it lower than the amount you can drive with it.. so who's the safer one?? I never drink and drive, so I don't tend to take much notice of alcohol limits as they don't really apply to me)

Hubby got three wrong out of the last 20 questions .. and failed (much to my amusement and his embarrassment.. I'm mean.lol)

The first ten are very simple (a bit like that online theory link you posted)- they are all about who's right of way , roundabouts etc etc - which all Brit's should have no prob's with.

The next lot of 20 are a mixture of questions, like the alcohol question, signs, and parking distances etc.. a mixture of things

a tip when you do the test.. read the questions carefully, if you can't answer one go onto the next one , then come back to it. Hubby failed for not reading the questions properly (I tested him later.. and he should have got them right), he sort of skimmed over them.
I had a sheet with the questions on it and a piece of paper to tick the correct answer - I don't know if other places have the test on a computer, but with us they didn't, so you could go back to the questions you missed out and have a think about it.

Not to worry if you fail first time like hubby did you can retake it again after 24 hours here, so it's not really a big deal if you fail first time, just take it again the next day(so I guess it maybe the same for NSW)

Snap DUP. There are some specifics worth looking up such as the distance you can park in front of and behind a post box and tread depth. Then there are the obvious ones like when approaching a traffic light on amber do you put your foot down and try and get through etc etc. It is worth getting the handbook just to memorise the specifics.

Perhaps I'll just use cabs - all those mad Iranian cab drivers must have passed......
