Life-long medciation

Just been told today I need medication for the rest of my life
Nothing too serious but, will this affect(sp) my visa application?

It will depend on the costs involved, prognosis etc.

You probably need some advice from an agent familiar with this area (most aren't) - try Peter Bollard in Sydney:

Controlled diabetes or asthma do not normally preclude a visa grant, for example. Other conditions do.

It's for Thyroxine, used for reduced Thyroide function.

Can I ask if you are male or female? Thyroid function can restore itself to normal in women in some cases.

Should not be a problem, lots of people are on thyroxine and you wont be a burden on the Australian Healthcare!

Hope that helps put your mind at ease.

Definately a bloke!!
I'm just borderline hypo, but the meds do help.
Hopefully I'll be OK with the visa, It's just one more thing to be concerned about

I also take regular medication (different condition). Declared it on the medical form. No problem with getting the visa.
