Hi all,
Being fairly new to this - can anyone tell me if they wrote to potential employers to try and secure a job and how effective this is/was

Dpends a lot on the job I think - if you are in a more specialist field then you are more likely to pick up an offer than if you are in a general field - admin jobs for instance; there are so many Aussies chasing them that they don't have to look elsewhere.
