Buy Shares in Mortein

Mortein Cockroach Spray and Spider Spray - they are different and you may need both.

Buy Shares in SunScreen Protection Company and then Slip Slop Slap all the time - Women need to have at least factor 15 SPF in their mosituriser even in winter. I was somebody that never bothered in the UK with skin care at all - you need to think here.

Make Friends with some mad people from England who have also emigrated and make sure they let you moan about Aus without ever saying but you moved here!

Buy fans (you know, for when it gets hot!) in the winter (now!), it's cheaper.
Got that tip yesterday, so gotta go sort that out this week!


Bring your hot water bottle, fleece jumpers, spring/autum coat/jacket. (winter ones are a bit too warm, though, if going to Melbourne or Tassy I'd take them too!)
Bring umbrella's.

This one has really worked for me ( being shy!)......practice pretending to be confident and talk to everyone.....even if it is just a front it really works and you will make friends just like that! :)


Also, make a tape of continuously barking dogs and play it whilst asleep at night and everytime you walk past a house, this will acclimatise you to the large population of lovely dogs in Australia!!!

If you buy a car, get the windows tinted as dark as possible. This should cost about $500 but vastly reduces UV risk and saves putiing strange sunshield socks on your windows...and it looks cool.
