Legal threats by 'The Emigration Group'
The Emigration Group Limited have taken exception to some negative reviews of their company. Unfortunately, instead of simply requesting that the posts be removed, they contracted the services of a solicitor and threatened legal action.
As it happens, the particular UK law and past case they quoted is of no relevance as britishexpats.com is not UK based. However, we don't want to upset anyone, so the 'negative' posts have been removed. To maintain a balanced forum, all other posts that reference The Emigration Group will also be removed regardless of whether they are positive or negative.
Please refrain from referencing The Emigration Group in any future posts.
Thanks

Just give it a regular "bump". That way everyone will see it and draw their own conclusions.

Its good to know some of these Companies read our views, I guess its the way they react to those views that says a lot about a Company though.

Oooh, just as I am studying for my media law, the laws of the defamation act keep haunting me!
Its true though, its great for newbies to have a warning of 'whats hot and whats not' so to speak.
But as a journalist, I would be very wary of slating a company on any forum.
Although my feeling is, people have a right to know and a right to be warned about things - good or bad.
Perhaps any questions regarding agents could be answered CAREFULY via PM to that person?
