Default lecture on australias mulitcultural features ;)

hi,
im from germany and i have to give a lecture on how different cultures live
in australia. how does the different ethnic groups feel and which cultures
can be found there? are there some small towns in the cities like little
italy or chinatown in new york? Are there a lot of Street-battles.....
i have to make a presentation about that subject. maybe with powerpoint. now i need your help to get enough information about that (how i think) difficult toppic. Enough information means so much information, that i can speak 20 minutes(minimum).
I hope
that you can help me! its really hard to get some information.
maybe you know some interesting links...

bye,
robert

Now, I'm just assuming this is a serious thread........

You should look at the Govt. websites on information of the distribution of immigrants in Australia. Must be on there somewhere.

I have no idea how different ethnic groups feel.

In Sydney there is a Chinatown and there are areas with more Italian businesses and residents like Leichhardt.

Actual street battles are a rare occurence, particularly North Shore - but there are areas in S.W. Sydney where there could be that kind of action. Although you couldn't really call them battles - more like occasional gun fire.

Good luck with your presentation.

Might like to look into:

Latest Indigenous news

Many Aboriginees live in areas where there is little economic activity and they have had little success in creating activity themselves - with a few exceptions. Money for nothing (unemployment benefits and mining royalties) have been societally corrosive.

The Federal Government is offering more than $172,000 for petrol bowsers in a bid to boost income and tourism prospects in the tiny outback West Australian town of Mulan.

In return, the Mulan community would be required to:

ENSURE children shower every day and wash their faces twice a day.

ENSURE children turn up to school.

KEEP homes and yards free of rubbish and ensure household rubbish is placed in bins instead of on the ground or floor.

PAY all rents on time so the local council can afford pest control, basic repairs and rubbish collection.

ENSURE fuel sold from the pumps is not used for petrol-sniffing.

Aborigines told to wash for petrol

I'd say a free course in basic parenting skills should be added into the bargain......
