Leaving the UK – A Financial Checklist
Found this list and thought it may be useful to someone.
Leaving the UK – A Financial Checklist
Have I made a file to keep all my important Financial Documents?
Have I received my P45 from my employer?
Have I submitted a UK tax return, as I may have overpaid tax if
I leave part way through the tax year?
Have I got an up to date statement of my UK Government
Pension Entitlement?
Have I got up to date statement(s) and Transfer Values from all
my Company Pension schemes?
Have I got up to date statement(s) and Transfer Values from
all my Private and Personal Pension schemes?
Have I got up to date statement(s) from all my PEPs,
ISAs, Unit Trusts and other managed investments?
Have I got up to date statement(s) and surrender values from all my
Endowments?
Have I got all the necessary original (not copies) policy documents
together, this includes pensions, endowments?
If I am keeping my UK Bank Account have I set up internet access?
Have I checked if my life assurance, medical insurance and income
protection polices apply when overseas?
Have I considered opening a Australia bank account prior to leaving
the UK?
Have I done a budget of expected expenditure in the first 3-6 months in
Australia?
Have I arranged Travel insurance?
Have I made of list of people I need to advise of my change in address
including change of email address?
Have I put together a file of documents that the bank will need when
I visit my Australia Bank branch to open the account?
Have I put together a file of documents that my pension providers will need
if I decide to transfer my pension to Australia?
If renting out my property have I applied to the UK Inland Revenue for
non-resident landlord status to not have tax deducted from my rent?
Have I researched the best way to bring Pounds Sterling to Australia?
