Default Leather Car Upholstery

We are flying to Melbourne on a PR visa in April and would like to buy a car with leather upholstery for comfort and durability. Is this a good idea in view of the heat and sunshine, we intend to settle in Mildura or Echuca?
Thanks to all contributors on this forum, it has been a boon and mine of information during the process of obtaining our visas.

I'd imagine you'd be ok in Melb, but I'd certainly avoid leather anywhere hotter.

Roger,
It may look nice, but burns when it's hot :scared: & freezes when it's cold :scared:

Overall, go for cloth

Bye

I mean what idiot buys black leather car seats in Brisbane It burns when I first sit on them, and then soaking wet back and arse by the time I get out again.

Thats with the windows tinted to the max, with tint stripe and putting up the reflective screen when I'm not in the car.

Cheers,
JTL

Some people like that sort of thing. Hot sweaty leather against the skin.
Does it have any sharp metal studs?

You're thinking of rubber, or maybe PVC

I have leather (dark grey) in Perth, and to be honest it is ok, even today and my temp gauge reads 40 C ! so over 50 C inside a locked car.

Once you get the air cond on it cools real quick, I also have very tinted glass which keeps it cooler.

Hope that helps.

I used to have an alarm system on my car in the UK which had the barely useful function of 'SmartWindows'. The big idea was an internal temp probe would monitor inside temperature and open the windows an inch if it got too hot. I think it activated once or twice in the three years I had it.

Now that would be really useful over here. If only I could remember in which box I left the system ECU....
