At Last!
Well I've been lurking on this forum for a while but have not had reason to post untill now.
My wife and I applied for a skilled migration visa way back in 15/03/2002 and we sent our police checks and medicals off 26/04/2003.
Well after many weeks of checking the post and 1 phone call to Adelaide(impatience got the better of us)we were notified today via Email from our case officer that our visas had been granted.
We both knew it had been coming but we did not expect to hear via Email so it took us completely by surprise and after the inital shock the whole event seemed a bit of an anti-climax.
Dont get me wrong we are over the moon that we finally know we can go but I guess it's like anything you've waited so long for it never quite meets your expectations.
We applied independantly without the aid of an agent and I wonder if the whole thing would have gone quicker if we'd had one but it would seem that the hard graft is yet to come.
Because from the start we never took it for granted that we would be given a visa we have made no plans other than in our heads towards the actual move, which looks like it will be some time around Xmas(Perth incidentaly). So now our heads are spinning with all the things we must do and decisions that have to be made.
Good luck to all who are waiting I hope the dates I have given are of some help to you,and the only advice I can give is hang in there they will get round to you eventually.

Well done! Sounds like we were, 18 months of saying IF we get visas rather than WHEN we get them. Lots of plans to make then - get busy!! Good luck
