Default Laptops

I know, been asked a load of times already, but can I bring my laptop from the Uk over to Australia, and can I buy an adaptor to connect to the phone line for the internet?

No, sadly the Australian Binary Standard (ABS) is slightly different here. Instead of 101010101 they actually use 010101010. This can really cause problems with certain software package. Some of the applications on Mac's can get really messed up and have even been known to feel less "cool" after emigrating. You should consider using somthing to convert the data on your disk or alternatively you could consider switching to something a little less technical

Hope this helps

Yes it will work. I'm typing this on a UK-bought laptop, with a UK powerlead, into a UK-bought plug-adapter.
ts running off Aus dialup with an Aussie phone cable plugged into it
