We are looking at buying land / or a home and have been surfing the net for months now.

When it says for the cost of land Auction $+ - how much more than the price would you expect to pay??? The idea of buying land / home at auction is a bit daunting.

It could be anything, they never really know the price until the bids come in. I saw one auction where they tried to get the bidding started at $600k, but it sold much nearer $500k. Others started at $700k and reached a $Million.

What area are you looking in ?

lStaying in St Kilda for the first 2-3 weeks until we find a place to rent in Ringwood (should be there for 6 months) whilst looking to buy land / or house in Lilydale. Its all ideas at the moment we haven't even been to Lilydale! But it looks nice from what we have read and what we have been told by our Auzzie friends over here.

We need to buy a car when we first get there to really get a proper look around. Can you recommend any car dealers?
