LAFHA in public sector?
 
Hi there,
does anybody know if it´s possible to get LAFHA when you work in the public sector? I work for Queensland Health and wondered about that since they have certain salary levels according to your profession, experience etc.

Great question, will keep an eye on this thread, as i have an interview with q health in 2 weeks time.

LAFHA is a tax allowance and isn't affected by pre-set salary levels. Or in other words: LAFHA isn't a pay award that your employer gives you out of the goodness of their hearts; it's something the taxman gives you if you qualify (you must be in Oz on a temp visa) and if your employer is prepared to deal with the paperwork.
