Lafha is available on a 457 visa although it needs to be offered by his company. If they don't offer it then he won't get it.

Not all companies offer lafha. I would say that if he has accepted the job offer then possibly lafha isn't being offered. It would be worthwhile asking.

I'm off to Perth hopefully if I get the visa approved. I've now been waiting 6 weeks for a decision so I've another 2 weeks to go.

My job's all lined up with Lafha.
Just be careful with Lafha, if your claim takes you below the minimum wage criteria then it can prove problematic.

Just had a letter from my employer telling me the food component has rise- as of 1st April, mine now up to 39k, that along with salary sacrifice means I pay just 10.1% tax, certainly beats the 33% I was paying in tax and NI in UK.
