Reminds me of when I was first dating my ex-wife, a good Southland girl. We went to a Kiwi pub in Fulham and she asked me to get her a tin of Steinlager. Me not knowing any better thought this must be what they call cans in NZ so I went up to the bar and ordered, (from the Kiwi barmaid), a tin of Steinlager and a lager shandy please. "A tin" she asked? "Yes, a tin" I answered. While she was getting the drinks I turned around to chat to Jo and the next thing I knew there were ten bottles of Steinlager lined up on the counter!

Needless to say I almost died of embarrassment and Jo was nowhere to be seen! Luckily the barmaid saw the funny side and didn't make me pay for them!

I think NZ should join the ranks of the UK and the US as countries separated by a common language!

Only remember two from our hols. One was an advert on the telly for a store card. Onecard. Put a NZ accent on that and it was
'W***er' as clear as day, every time we turned the telly on. Also had a problem in a Subway store, where the choice of cheese included Tuna, turned out to be cheddar! Don't ask how.

At least we'll find the adverts funny then, heard the rest of the telly is crap!
