OK - daft question?
Why are you taking kitchen knives in luggage?
My really expensive set went with packers and they are here now ok. Unless you are a chef and cannot live without them, why bother? But then again I got attached to fairly daft things (to most people) and bought them in my luggage cause I could not live without them for six weeks. If the knives come in a wooden block, wrap them up in the block.
Cheers

I would strongly advise against ,placing knives in your luggage , unless they are in a sealed container. If a baggage handler or Customs officer is injured by protruding blades ,you could be subject to legal Action......... MM
