Hi Sharon

Sorry can't really tell you much about the Kings Park area in regard to housing or schools as we didnt look at that specific area to live in, although we did visit Kings Park, more the north of Perth we looked at. But we loved perth after doing a reccie of perth, melbourne, brissie and sydney (although sydney was really just a holiday!!!).

Can't really put my finger on what it was about it that we loved, we just did. Hope someone else can give you more info about that area though.

Nikki

Kings Park is beautiful, I believe NG is opening there next year. It's a bit expensive to live in the surrounding areas, West Perth, Subiaco, Shenton Park etc. However it's a pretty easy commute if you can't afford high house prices and are prepared to live in suburbia.

There's no need to live in Kings Park itself, the public transport links are excellent so you could look further afield. We originally sorted a rental in Bayswater which isnt too far from the city but was a lovely location - right on the river in parts with a huge reserve park.

Trains into Perth City are regular and cheap, maybe this would be a better option?

Personally I'd say you're better off looking when you get here, take your time as there are so many different suburbs and areas, some older, some newer, you'll find one that suits you.

Prepared to live in suburbia. Hmmm, as opposed to where? Geraldton?

I have worked in West Perth which borders Kings Park and it is a really nice area. I am not sure I would live there - prefer the beach area further up north. We live in Kallaroo 19kms from Perth on the coast and it took me 20mins to drive to work down the coast - fantastic.
