Re: Killara, Sydney, NSW
We lived in Gordon, just. The next road was Killara.
It's green and hilly with lots of trees. There are nice houses with decent sized gardens. I loved walking around there, despite the hills!
Some of my Australian friends had children at the primary school and seemed happy with it.
There's a station and the Pacific Hwy to take you straight into the city. The train takes about 25 minutes into the city as I remember....
It's close to Roseville and Gordon for supermarket shopping as well as delis, butchers, pharmacies etc.
It's a lovely area to live, but quite pricey.
Hope that's useful?

St Ives - next door burb for nine years; agree with what CEM had to say.
Very pricey; state high school has good reputation.

I lived in Killara (started in Chatswood), left there a few months ago and will be returning after our USA stint has finished - what did you want to know? Property? Shops? Schools? Commute?

I live in Lindfield the next suburb to Killara very expensive as others said, but real nice neighbourhood, I'm very new to the area but found everyone is very friendly so far.
