Hi, I usually use Clarkes in England for my childs shoes, what sort of reputable company is there in Australia, any?

I know its a strange question but wondered anyway.

Thanks

There is a shop called shoes and socks that sell Clarke shoes here in Sydney. They are the same quality as the shoes in England and they measure your childrens feet too.

Hi, as the previous poster says, Clarks readily available, as are Startrite.
We have bought ours Airflex school shoes and trainers after being recommended by the school, they are more expensive, but come with an extra set of insoles to alter the width fitting. This is a godsend to me who has a daughter with two different width feet.
Only been 3 months but they are wearing very well.

Do you know the address, or what area, the shop is in? I have been quite disappointed with the standard so far and as my little one has only been walking for 6 months I am keen to keep her in suitable footwear for now. Also the local shop I went to recently wouldn't measure the width fitting - even though the shoes we were looking at came in the various width fittings?!

There is a shop in Westfield Chermside that sells Clarke's shoes. I imagine they fit them. I plan to take my bubs in there when he learns to walk. He is still in training. His feet seems to be very chubby though, so I don't know how I am going to get shoes to fit him.

Hi P

I guess you must have been to Warringah Mall - "Shoes and Sox" is on the ground level. If you enter passing the post office on your right you will find it on your right just a bit further in than Target. They offer a good deal too that after buying six pairs of shoes you get the seventh pair free (to the value of the average you have spent) which having three kids as I do is a godsend!

Happy shopping!

As others have said Clarks shoes are available here - we bought a pair soon after we arrived in Feb, and they were material inner parts resulting in very smelly feet (must get that from her Dad )

I was not impressed with the fitting done at Myer, but more so for the last pair at David Jones (they are lasting ages, well for childens shoes and should do given cost (imported from Italy)) - my experience is v limited and probably depends on staff on the day/store

Hi B,

Warringah Mall - sometimes it seems like I live there!! Interesting you say that as the shop you mention is the one where they refused to measure her width fitting - didn't realise it was the same shop canaveral was referring to. Perhaps it was just the woman serving us - she wasn't particularly customer orientated! Fortunately littly got grumpy and didn't want to try shoes on so we left. Perhaps I'll give it a go another time - after all they did have the shoes I wanted. With the offer - do you have to buy all 6 pairs at once or do you get a card with stamps on like at the juice bars? I can't believe how I'm so into coupons and 'buy so many get one free' cards over here. Something I never bothered with in the UK. Even had to buy a new purse to fit all my cards in!

Hope you and the family are well. Haven't received an invite to the 'packing' party yet!!

No, you don't have to buy six pairs in one go! And yes, it does mean another little card for your purse! BUT you do have to buy six pairs within a year which you might struggle to do with just the one littly! We are on to our 8th pair from there and have found them extremely helpful on each occasion. Guess you just got Ms PMT!

Just about to go into crazy mode with packing! Got open house here tomorrow though so hope someone agrees to rent the place so I don't have to keep it tidy any more! Come for a coffee (and throw something in a box) any time!

Have a good weekend.
