Default kids and schools in Queensland

hi all, we are due out in Queensland @january/feb 08, does anyone know the starting ages for kids ,our children are 4 (31/03/03) and 10. our 4 year old would be starting full time school here in january,but i heard it is 6 ?? if so, is there pre-school facilities ie nursery's etc,he attends nursery 5 mornings a week in the UK.

Nothing at all until they are 5-6 unless you pay for it on the Gold Coast.

We are back in the UK now but if were back there out youngest would not start school until 2009.

There are no playschools at all. There are places such as The ABC centres but they are not free.
