I think it can be a problem if your kids are bright but 2 of my friends have "gifted" kids and one is in the PEAC group whereby they attend learning sessions one day a week with other like minded kids and the other is is a combined class and doing the work of the higher class. Quite how that will work next year, I am unsure.
Personally my kids are average and they are really happy at school, they do heaps of sporting activities and my eldest son (10) is in an all boys class (normal school - Clarkson) which the school has been doing in yr 6 & 7 for the last 5 years or so. It is proving really popular in both social and accademic results beacause of the vast differences in the ways boys and girls learn. The boys get bored so quickly so the teacher gets them out on the oval, quick runaround and then back to work. Some may be sceptical but I have seen an improvement in his work this year.
Good luck

did u ever at some point think u wanted to return to uk?
we have 2 kids, 7 and 11 and what worries me most is if they got really bored and unhappy......so if anyone have moved there with school going children... i would love to hear your experiences.
