Default Kids jabs for school in WA

Hi there,

Does anyone know the requirements for kids with regards to jabs so they can attend school/pre school?? I heard they need Hep B immunisation, is this correct??

Cheers

Jon

No, you don't have to immunise your children for them to be accepted into schools. It may be a preference but it is not mandatory.

You don't need them to attend school but I had my kids done just so they were in line with WA standards. I am also led to believe if you claim family tax benefit from Centrelink they can withhold your benefit if your child isn't fully vaccinated in line with WA standards. Not sure how true this is though or whether it is just hearsay.

det.wa.edu.au/redirect/?oid=com.arsdigita.cms.contenttypes...

Cut and paste the link...

Immunisation is not compulsory in Australia but strongly encouraged and recommended....
