Kids Education Query!?!

We are currently planning to make the move to Perth, via Spouse Visa, around about this time next year.
Here's the situation.....Eldest son has just got his GCSE results and is planning to go on to do A levels starting this coming September, Second oldest son is starting year 10 (First year of GCSE course work). The other two kids are 9 and 11 so no major problems there (Hopefully!!)
Now here's the problem...... if we go next year as originally planned, Son No1 will have only completed his AS levels, and Son No 2 will have completed only one year of his course work for his GCSE's.
Our original thought was that they should be able to slide into the Aus educational system with the six months they will both have before the new school year starting in January 2005.
But after giving it further thought and some concerns from Son No 2 (No 1 Son can't wait to make the move and would go tomorrow if he could!!) we were wondering if things would work out quite so easy as we may have naively thought?
Has anyone got experience with a similar situation to this or any thoughts?

We arrived in Perth in May this year, Our son was already in year 10 in the UK, when he started school here in Perth, they put him in year 10 as his birthday is in August, he got to choose some subjects, But in year 11 they make there main choices. It also depends on when their birthday falls as to what year they will be put into. Some of the work he is doing now he did in year 9 in the UK.
They have lots of choices, they can leave school at the end of year ten and get an apprentership, or stay on until year 12, choose courses to get into TAFE or courses to get to UNI

hope this helps
