Default Karma for Deadmeat?

I've been trying to give Karma to Deadmeat for weeks. It keeps saying I need to spread it around. Thats not true, I've never given him any! In fact by the look his record, no-one ever has

Deadmeat

Can you all give it a go and see if you can give him some Karma. He's been a really helpful, and dead funny poster, I'm really pee'd off I can't give him Karma.

Cheers,
JTL

You cant . Some of the huge karma posters now have their karma option turned off . Dont know how that works but there were a few with heaps and now just have the blank box where karma should be

He might have the karma option switched off. I think thats why a few people have loads of posts but zero in the karma. Either that or just nobody loves them

It's on your profile options somewhere. You can also disalbe private messages and browse anonymously if you feel like being a sneaky bugger

Hiya JTL,

I got your Karma, thanks very much

I have my rating set to "invisible" by choice but I can still give and receive ... hopefully you got some of mine recently ... I try to remember to look to see who's given me some and return the favour ... but only when you deserve it, naturally, this ain't no karma-whoring session

In answer to a few common questions about karma ...
1) You can only turn the display off if you are a premium member (dunno why)

2) You have to spread it around a bit, hence the reason you are blocked from sending me some. This stops silly karma-exchanging ... sometimes ...

3) I've turned mine off because I don't like "rating" systems on message boards and the sort of games people play around it ... doesn't mean I don't like to receive (and give) just that I don't want my reputation to be based around some "high" rating. I am as good as my last post.

If you are bored (and you'd have to be VERY bored) then search for my previous posts about Karma to get the full picture, I think it ruins boards like these.

Yeh, I know, it's only a laugh, lighten up ... Shit, it's hardly the UN in here is it?

Cheers,
Matt

I think only premium members can switch karma off.

But you should still be able to give them some.

Maybe Mrs JTL gave hime karma?

Very sensible comments Matt!

I've become increasingly suspicious of some folks motives re: karma, because it seems to promote competitiveness in some, to the point where I suspect that they feel folks will think better of them if they have lots of boxes.

Some of the best posters on here have less karma than me; so as far as I'm concerned these days, it's pretty irrelevant when it comes to sussing folks out. It should be a bit of harmless fun, but is taken very seriously by some. Most odd...

Sent you karma btw Matt, even though it won't show. Cheers mate!
