Re: Kalamunda High School
Try a search, it's come up a few times. The only other person I can think of who lives up there is Sam but she's rarely on BE these days. I know she has said before it's not got a good rep and her girls don't go there.

My nephew is a teacher and lives up in Kalamunda. If you still want some info, PM me and let me know what questions you have and I'll ask him.

HI Moneypen is right
1) i dont come on here often
2) i personally wouldn't send my girls to Kalamunda HIgh...although i do know of another poster that that does have a child there and she has said that it improves in year 11
The rules and regulations there are very different to other schools in the area...it is an arts specialist school and as such doesn't discourage self expression

Re: Kalamunda High School
As a staff member of Kalamunda SHS here are some of the comments from our last prospectus.
I am always impressed by the range of academic, social and sporting opportunities afforded to our students. The atmosphere around the school on any weekday attests to the fact that this leads to a rich and colourful educational experience for our students - I am sure it wasn't like that in my day.
Netta (Teacher 2001 - present, former student 1979 - 1982)
Kalamunda SHS has a proud history of great respect between staff and students. With this respect and community support, we worked as a team to uphold our school motto of Wisdom and Courage. Forty years later, I see in the students of today, the same respect, quest for knowledge, determination to succeed and pride in their achievements. The school's new values of Community, Respect, Resilience, Pride and Love of Learning, continues the journey.
Dr John Owen MD Sc, FICD, MRACDS (Orth) CPL (H) Orthodontist and past student
Kalamunda has given me many fantastic opportunities both as a student and a teacher. As Head Boy in 2002 I was able to develop my understanding of the pressures and responsibilties tachers face through my work on the school council and student committees. I am honoured to be now working as a teacher at Kalamunda.
