Is it just us or......?
were you all ill often when you first arrived in Aus???
Of course the bugs are different here etc, so you would expect some lurgies...but this is crazy....we've spent more time blowing our noses, coughing, and having heads down the toilet than doing anything else!!!.....and it's not just the kids!!!! :p Tanya |

Thank goodness for that!!..I begining to think we had problems with our immune systems!!! Our kids are 2 and 4yrs and major bu factories....I must say, the majority of the bugs my husband and I have caught have been via the kids.....Mind you, I was watching the news last night and they were talking about a rotavirus outbreak here in Queensland.....you can guess what we spent all night last night doing......! yuck :D Tanya |

I hate to scare you, but its only in the last 4-5 months that I've started to feel well (at least as "well" as I felt in the UK) ....and I've been here nearly 3 years. :(

This family has been healthier than it ever was in the UK. I feel fab. I think it's the mountains air, lack of pollution, living miles away from civilisation and the fact that we all wear these when we go out...

No different from the UK for me :D |

glad someone else mentioned this as i was beginning to think i was the only one too. Never felt so ill since we came to OZ. Headaches/migraines especially. Aswell as everthing else..cold/flu,aches, pain, ichy, tired.
Kids can catch foot and mouth disease at school aswell as worms :scared: Different symptoms...different country. What happened to 'healthier Lifestyle'?? |

We've all been really well - and that's with a pre-schooler too. I had an ear infection and Amelia one nasty cold - a lot less than we would have had in a UK winter that's for sure :)

I worked in Sydney for 4 months each year three years running some 15 years ago - each time I arrived I was off work for a week with colds etc. Couldn't believe it!

Yep chicken pox was in this household a few weeks ago, a couple of weeks before that it was a viral infection, then nits (lovely), then another viral infection, then another bout of nits (still lovely!) - for now she is healthy - fingers crossed it'll stay that way over the school holidays! :D |
